How many internships should you apply to so you can be sure you will get at least one offer assuming you’re a pretty strong candidate?

I had 0 and I’m non-diversity so clearly there’s no hard rule here. Got an offer at two BB’s, one top tier too.
This is not to brag about being hot shit but to say you’re wasting your time mulling over hOw MaNy iNtErNsHiPs you need for an offer. You’re more than your resume and having 1 or 6 internships on it won’t get you an offer alone.
I think he is talking about how many companies he should apply to to ensure he gets an offer. To which I would say there’s no real number bc truthfully it could be 5 apps or 500 depending how you stack up against the candidate pool amongst other factors
