How Many People Get Top Bucket (Big 5)

Accepted my return offer at a B5 this summer and had close to 0 insight on bonuses for analysts outside of WSO. Everyone kept their #'s very discreet, and only gave rough ranges or saying they were "happy" and "couldn't complain." I know I want to try and be top bucket but I don't have any insight into how the analysts are ranked amongst their class / group.

My question is how are analysts compared among the B5 and how many analysts will get a top bucket bonus vs middle vs bottom? Assuming a class size of ~40 analysts.

Is a bonus going to be group dependant with some groups getting higher bonuses than others? Are groups only given a certain # of "top bucket" bonuses to be allocated to their analysts, or are top bucket to bottom bucket distributed and decided on a class basis vs. a group basis.

Got ~190k all in as a first year and ~230k all in as a second year (both in CAD) a few years ago.
