How much do bankers care about you not getting a return offer from your internship after you have FT experience?
Do IBs care about you not getting a return offer from your junior summer internship if you already have FT experience in the space at a smaller firm when looking to lateral? I’ve heard from some people that internships are really discounted when compared to FT experience. But have also heard from others it’s a big red flag. Would love to hear thoughts.
Was wondering the same thing. Didn’t receive a return from a MM my junior summer and am currently at a boutique looking to lateral. Also went to a target school so curious if I should just remove the MM from my resume/linkedin to avoid the “red flag” cuz it definitely made full-time recruiting feel like an uphill battle.
In the same exact situation but went to a non-target. FT recruiting without the return was truly a bloodbath. I just feel like people will question the step down in "prestige" even though I'm way more involved in my deals at my boutique than I ever was during my junior summer internship deals.
I wouldn't care as long as you currently have a FT job but I'm not a psychopath unlike most bankers
