It's just like any other job. You'll get hit with the ~15% fed rate + city & state .. which assuming NYC, will be quite a bit (not based in NYC so don't know the rates.) . You'll pay somewhere in the neighborhood of 20%-25%, get a little back next April.

Since when is the federal rate 15%? Your salary will be withheld in the neighborhood of 35% with a decent refund at the end of the year.

Effective federal rate might be 15 after your refund, which incidentally comes far before April if you file early.
