How much free time available for analysts? Do you go to the gym?

From what I am hearing about beginning in IB is that the hours are ridiculous and it seems that you have no free time. It seems that such a schedule would be far more sustainable with some fitness/exercise routine but do you even have time for that?

I used to go as often as I can but at least 3 times a week! However, it can take weeks until you see the first successes. Nevertheless, you should persevere because it is worth it and you just feel better. I would just look at how you can plan it into your everyday life.  Now I've built my own little gym in the basement. At home, you don't have an excuse if you don't feel like working out. hahah

Would highly recommend developing a routine where you work out in the morning, that way you can almost always hit the gym before work and you don't have late-night emails and fire drills getting in your way. If you're in bed by ~midnight, you can still get a good 6 hours of sleep, work out in the morning and be online by 8 or 9am. This was pretty doable for me when I was an analyst, except for a few pockets during the year when I was on live deals.
