How much time does one have off after graduation before the start of a FT job?
Title says it all. I know it varies firm to firm but I'd just like to hear from some of you who have gone through this part of life already. How much time did you have off after graduation before you started your first job?
Bump
I finished my masters degree in July 14, started graduate recruiting in August 14 and travelled from November 14 to June 15 until the program started.
This route however was quite risky - could also have end up with no job!
That's what I want to do, use my time off to travel before work starts.
roughly 2 weeks for me
No time. Actually left school early (for both SA and FT) to start work. Fucking sucked missing senior week but what can you do about it...
This blows. I graduate this May 20th, work starts in August 7. Already booked a 2 month trip to Europe this summer. If you don't do it now, you'll never do it for the rest of your life.
I'm hoping to take at least a month break between banking and whatever I do next and yolo around Europe or something. Hopefully will have saved up enough to make it really sweet. But you're absolutely right, the window to be able to do things like that is quickly closing.
About 6 months for me
I'll be joining a BB this year for a FT role. Training will begin sometime in mid-July, and I will be finishing up school around the beginning of June. So, give or take 4 weeks.
