How to break into Commercial banking? Need advice desperately

I graduated from a T30 university in June 2026 with a 3.9 GPA and am currently interning on the FP&A team at a captive auto finance company.  Full time headcount just isn't there due to the budget, so I'm trying to explore options at other places. I'm looking into commercial / corporate banking or adjacent roles at BBs.

I've been trying to find people on relevant teams and reaching out for chats by guessing their emails based on first/last name format. For those who have successfully entered commercial or corporate banking, what else would you recommend doing to position myself effectively? I would especially appreciate advice on networking, recruiting timelines, technical preparation, and which entry-level roles to target.
