How to Discuss Prior Deals you had Worked (in M&A) on in a IB FIG Analyst interview?

How? This was like 2 years back, where I worked in the M&A product group at a BB, where I worked on 4 deals, but only one of the deals was where I did a lot of the modelling, helping out the Analysts. I just remember the deal value and ebitda multiple and obv. the companies and what kind of deal it was (that's all!). What else do I need to know to successfully discuss them in interviews? Thanks!

this is the rough framework i've used, and it's held up fairly well.

-rationale: why was the company looking to buy/sell?

-general: industry dynamics and strengths/weaknesses of the firm

-key financial metrics: revenue; growth; EBITDA; EBITDA margin; multiple range; valuation range

-process walk through**: timeline? key phases? was it a broad or narrow auction? ~ how many firms did you reach out to? why was this process best suited for this deal?

-challenges: what were some of the hiccups you encountered? how did you help/manage those problems?

-outcome: self-explanatory

**this is usually where you can talk about what you did during the deal: financial model + valuation, teaser, CIM, management presentations, data room, etc...

hope it helps
