How to exit abroad?

Just started my IB analyst stint at a BB in the US (not based in NY). After my two years I am really interested in moving to Europe. I don't mind staying in IB, or going to PE or any other finance role if that's how I can go abroad. What would be the best way to do this? Stay at my BB and try to transfer internally? Does anyone have experience doing this?

What about recruiting abroad? Are European companies interested in interviewing non-NYC candidates? Any areas of finance that this would be easiest to try for?

If possible for you to try to stay with your current company and just work for one of their offices in a city you prefer to live in, that may be easiest. Hopefully there is a more senior person there or an HR professional who can help you with that. Otherwise, the next best step may be to seek out other similiar roles, albeit for a different organization, in the geography you prefer to be living in. Good luck and best wishes :)
