How to NOT get a job

I like to think that I am generally good at interviews, evidenced by my experience in obtaining positions well outside of my experience range. I finally got to the third round at a hedge fund, representing my move to the buy-side. By the way, there are ~4 hedge funds in my area. And this is where it all went wrong.

I got on the highway to do a 30 min drive and bam—dead stop traffic. So I call and say I will be late. When I get there, my tie has fucking disappeared (and was never found), so I guess I will be bare-chesting this interview.

Interview goes well—case study on the way. I do the case study, building a very detailed model and write up. I spend ~2 hours editing the writing, hit save, attach to email, and submit. Unfortunately, my “save” went to the non-existent temporary internet files folder, and I attached the unedited version from my desktop. Fuck. So I am losing all hope, and have not heard back. I did however manage to pocket-call the VP for a few minutes. I hope he likes messages of air---if he does, it is alllll mine.
