How to talk about an M&A deal that was completed with different advisors?

Sprucing up resume and have a bit of a grey area. Basically, my team ran a three month long buyside M&A process pretty much end-to-end ...and right at final negotiations, the target sought another sponsor with slightly better terms. The entire deal team was pretty much gutted as expected; was truly a long and involved process

The target company publicly announced & completed the transaction over a year ago; the ultimate buyer was an insider/on the board so our diligence was ridden off on to complete the contemplated transaction, essentially vis-a-vis our transaction structure. Team also hired new bookrunners to pick up where we left off (they closed like ~1 month after parting ways with us). RIP to those long 3 months of diligence...still have ptsd from that VDR

My questions here is,

  • to what breadth can I discuss my firm's role in the transaction? Can I straight up namedrop the target on my resume? (both target & buyer are public). Am I able to address who the original buyer was supposed to be?
  •  Anyone been through something similar and wordsmith the "status/outcome"? I assume saying "terminated" is accurate, however the transaction did complete, again, essentially to a T of our proposed structure alternative. Advise?

My assumption here is that there's no confidentially whatsoever, however want to be sure. Thanks in advance
