UFOinsider1. I don't know 2. the impending war between bankers and traders. Perhaps not as bad as GS, but there will be blood.

Care to elaborate on how the war will affect JPM? Curious to hear your thoughts.

As for me, I don't think JPM has any firm-specific risks... the major risks are those it faces by virtue of being a major player in the financial services industry. Regulatory issues, financial crisis, interest rates, etc etc are the major risks I see.

Wall Street leaders now understand that they made a mistake, one born of their innocent and trusting nature. They trusted ordinary Americans to behave more responsibly than they themselves ever would, and these ordinary Americans betrayed their trust.

It's just how I see it playing out. It's like a gang / mob turf war: every generation or so they butt heads and we're overdue across the BB's. It's a cultural thing, I don't get it, but that's what it looks like. The traders took over a few decades back, and they have consistently pushed the envelope in every way. Now it's the bankers turn to rise up through the ranks and run things. This is a top end management issue, but affects the entire culture. I give it a year or two before it becomes widely discussed.

newyorkguy18What do you think are the biggest risks to JPM going forward?

What do you anticipate are the biggest challenges of managing JPM as an institution?

Go on the company's website, read their latest corporate report and some of their presentations. Read the manager's letter to investors. It will give you some clue for your answer. Take a look at their latest balance sheet and compare them to the previous year. Read the footnote that accompany the balance sheet and the prospectus.
