HR Background Check

Hey Guys,

I know you may think this has been beaten to death but I couldn't find much using search, so please bear with me. I have an open container citation in NYC. I was wondering if anyone knows the ramifications of pleading guilty by mail and sending a check. Also, will this show up on whatever background check my firm will run on me (recently accepted 1st yr position at top MM/boutique)? Assuming it does show up, it is up to the firm to decide whether or not it cares about it?

Thanks in advance.

Given that it's a citation, it likely won't show up. Even if it does, you don't want to work at any place that dings you for the equivalent of a parking ticket. A friend of mine got a 10-125 (2b) citation a few years ago and hasn't had any problems with background checks thus far.

Looking on here, the plea form specifically says it's an ordinance violation, not a crime. http://www.nycourts.gov/courts/nyc/criminal/pleadguiltybymail.pdf

There have been many great comebacks throughout history. Jesus was dead but then came back as an all-powerful God-Zombie.
