HR Zoom call after final interview
I'm a lateralling for a EB, for a coverage team. The final interview went pretty well, not that most amazing but pretty well.
36-ish hours after the interview lead HR recruiter emails me "Would you have 30mins free on Monday next week to speak to me on a zoom call? This is in relation the role in our team?"
The HR person is also my point of contact for the job (and as far as I know there are no other competing candidates). For context, the team always said they would guage my interview result to An/Ass level as well.
Could this be the case where they wanted to be polite so they are delivering the rejection personally? Anyone any experience? Much appreciated.
Good sign
I'm probably overthinking this but I don't know why they don't just tell me I got the offer
usually dont set up calls for a rejection only to give an offer. would be cruel otherwise lol
Would be cruel indeed but am not sure why they are being cryptic about this
had something similar happen to me as well. would try and get your mind off of it
I've worked in finance for almost 15 years. It's EXTREMELY rare for HR to set up a rejection call. They always email rejections.
Thank you. I know it's a probably a stupid post but this is my career pivot from an unrelated industry and likely my first break after trying for a while, so I'm a bit paranoid.
Thank you for commenting. :)
I hear that man. The job-hunt process will wreck your psyche. Makes the reward that much nicer though. Enjoy the weekend.
recruited ft 26 and got 2 rejections over the phone, one of which was set up in advance. really got my hopes up lol
Damn, that's insane. Why would they do that? FFS.
Hopefully not the case here, if they reject me I prefer a. email not while looking at someone on Zoom, and I'd have to contain myself for the sake of looking professional.
It's pretty much impossible to get HR to do anything unless you pull them by the eyelids to do it so I don't imagine that they're setting up Zoom calls with candidates for any reason other than to progress their application to whatever the next stage is.
LMFAO
i've been rejected on planned phone calls. However, that was rare and only when it was after the final interview (when they selected someone else). More often than not these planned calls are to present the offer so I would prepare to have the comp discussion.
this is a zoom call though. would be weird to see their face if thats bad news
congrats
