IB Associate Promo
Hi all - Simply wanted to ask for advice regarding the analyst to associate promo in a bank that only promotes a small portion of the analyst pool after two years (mostly 3-year program).
For context, I worked for three years in a Big 4 firm in the U.S. (not NYC but in a large financial city, 1 year in audit and 2 year in M&A due diligence). I then joined my current bank (which would be referred to as upper mid-market on this forum) as a first-year analyst. Got a top bucket bonus for my first year and I'm now almost halfway into my 2nd year.
My bank rarely gives associate promotions after only two years, but given my previous work experience and my performance since joining I feel that I would deserve an associate promotion at the end of this current year. None of my seniors have spoken to me about it, and I'm not even sure they've considered it yet, but I'd like to let them know my intentions.
What advice would you give me?
