IB best route for me?
Just some background, I'm 26 and been working at an asset manager as a research analyst for 4 years(was hired straight out of college after an internship at the same company). Don't see myself longer term being in the public markets (volatility, playing the earnings game) but I do like doing financial analysis and want to stay in the finance industry.
So my question is does it make sense for be to go backward (in terms of career path) and get a IB gig. My reasoning is more exit opps + get some deal experience (don't know yet if I want to go the PE or Corporate route) as I try to figure out what I want to do in life. Also considered MBA but I want to put that off until I get a better grasp of what I want to do.
Thanks everyone
Go for the MBA. You'll be able to recruit for Associate positions in IB while using that time to explore other options/career paths you may have overlooked before.
I would definitely go with an MBA. If you aren't sure what you want to do yet, that will give you options.

ah so the rat race begins once again after you complete your MBA
