IB Business Development
In browsing other posts there’s been some comment on Business development in IB but haven’t seen much. I wanted to get others thoughts on IB Business development.
The way I understand this specific role is that it’s more of a sales role in that you’re making calls/creating touch points for FAs, PE firms, Mezzanines, MMS, Law firms and other COIs to either raise debt/Capital, but mainly for those selling businesses (between 50-500 mil).
I have 2 questions on this: I know Bus Dev is a new/rising part of IB so is this another interesting part of IB for those with more of a sales background/skill set or is this tagged as a part of IB but really has nothing to do with it? Also any light that can be shed on this opportunity or Bus Dev in IB would be much appreciated!
Prospect in CorpFin, pure crickets, that's where I come in. Any of these useful?
