Scheller grad and current IB VP here. I would join investments committee in first semester, try to get leadership role, try to knock out accounting I asap so he can take finance I and higher level finance courses early.

Beyond that, important to get an early internship freshmen summer so he can get something good for sophomore summer and market when he’s interviewing for junior summer internship in spring of sophomore year.

The investments committee has this thing called “Accel program” which is kind of like Corsair society at UGA. You have to apply and get accepted but it teaches you all about recruiting, gives you list of alumni at various banks, etc. critical that he joins this. And networks heavily on his own. Even starting freshmen year networking with analysts to VPs who are Tech alums is good place to start so they know who he is and there is more of a relationship built than when I get the 20 calls from tech kids every recruiting season (and only prioritize a few I’ve known a while due to the number that reach out to me).
