IB from just Under Grad

Hello- I am a working professional coming from a humble background. I currently do not have any experience working in IB, however I hold an Accounts and Finance UG degree along with an affiliation status at ACCA. It took me a while to hold my ground and figure my stuff and hence I was pretty late in planning my career. My work is in Ops again not in line with Finance. Is it even remotely possible for me to land a role in IB someday? or should I just give up this dream altogether? If Yes- for someone who is a starter (with no relative exp) what else should I do to make it happen. I would appreciate any advice at this point- thanks!

As the other commenter said you should go the MBA route, it is basically impossible to go lateral into an analyst role without a deal related job currently (transaction advisory as an example), but even now with how hard the market is most of these lateral positions are IB analysts trying to move upstream from my understanding. If you really don’t want to do the MBA try to get into a role that can somehow get you into IB and is related to deals, and then target “lower tier” banks (I put quotes around lower tier because prestige is a BS thing to base your life around, but in this case it’s true)
