IB Internship Networking - Question
I am starting to network for IB internships (2027) and am finding that while I have a decent number of professional contacts in banking (prime brokerage for example), I dont have very many in IB. I suspect this is largely due to the fact that many people move into hedge funds or PE after 1-2 years.
My question is, when applying for the IB internship, is it valuable to have networked and established relationships with people outside of IB at that bank? Is that helpful at all in terms of being able to cite contacts even if they are not in IB?

Agree with other comment, if you are recruiting for SA27, you are too late. If you are networking for SA28, cycle begins in late November up to January is when most banks apps open.
