IB Networking in Frankfurt (Germany) (Originally Posted: 04/23/2013)
I have been full time for a year and will be working in Germany for 6months for the second half of this year for my FLDP rotation. Looking to get some advice on how to network in Frankfurt (what tools to use - events, linkedin, college recruiting?). I am hoping this will be an opportunity for me to break into IB in Europe, any advice would be greatly appreciated. When I searched through my LinkedIn network, I have no one from Europe. Also, is there a big Visa issue for US citizen looking to move there?
The company would have to sponsor you, so shoot for the bigger international shops. For networking try to utilize your school's network as much as possible. Linkedin is also a good way to contact people that you don't know.

How do you expect to network then? As a German, I would find that incredibly conceited.
