IB Prep

Hello,

I am currently preparing for many different interviews at investment banks, but I don't feel really prepared yet. From what I have heard, there are a lot of questions, especially in the DACH region, where more emphasis is placed on technicals, and I have not been able to answer many questions that friends of mine have already been asked.
I have already done the IB package from WSO, a few courses at the universities (although I didn't take much more here) and then I read the book Investment Banking by Rosenbaum
Does anyone have any other books, videos or similar that I should go through so that I am better prepared?

Thank you very much

To enhance your preparation for investment banking interviews, especially with a focus on technical questions in the DACH region, here are some additional resources and strategies based on the most helpful WSO content:

  1. WSO Investment Banking Interview Course: This course is highly recommended as it is designed by professionals with real-world experience. It covers technical questions comprehensively and is tailored to help candidates ace their interviews. You can find it here: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/resources/skills/economics/supplier-pow…</a">Investment Banking Interview Course.

  2. 400 M&I Question Guide: This guide is frequently mentioned as a top resource for technical prep. It includes over 400 questions and detailed answers, which can be particularly useful for mastering technicals.

  3. Rosenbaum & Pearl's "Investment Banking": Since you've already read this, consider revisiting sections on valuation methodologies, DCF, and M&A. It's a staple for technical prep.

  4. Additional Books:

    • "Valuation: Measuring and Managing the Value of Companies" by McKinsey & Company: A deeper dive into valuation techniques.
    • "Financial Modeling" by Simon Benninga: Great for understanding the mechanics of financial models.
  5. Case Studies and Restructuring Prep: If you're targeting restructuring roles, focus on case studies and materials specific to RX interviews. The WSO forums suggest that RX interviews are more challenging, so additional practice in this area is crucial.

  6. Mock Interviews and Resume Reviews: Utilize WSO's mock interview services and professional resume reviews to refine your approach and ensure you're presenting yourself effectively.

  7. Bootcamps: Consider attending WSO's virtual bootcamps, such as the Financial Modeling & Valuation Bootcamp or the Investment Banking Interview Bootcamp. These are intensive and provide hands-on experience.

  8. Practice Mental Math and Logical Problems: As highlighted in WSO's interview tips, mental math and logical problem-solving are often tested. Dedicate time to practicing these skills.

  9. Networking and Alumni Insights: Reach out to alumni or professionals in the DACH region to gain insights into specific interview expectations and trends.

By combining these resources with consistent practice, you'll significantly improve your readiness for technical interviews. Good luck!
