IB to Commercial Banking

Was curious if anyone out there had ever made this transition? Currently in a MM firm and find the hours/lifestyle soul crushing. Granted my group's hours are worse than others on average.

Frankly, I have realized that I enjoy the client relationship aspect of the business am want to prioritize a career with a work life balance to have a family etc. I am fine with capping out between 200-300k.

Shame no one answered this question. I am personally extremely curious - especially when thinking of the effects the IB grit and work hours would have in regards to working in commercial banking if you just continued the IB pace for the first month or two in order to show your capabilities.

Cap at 200-300k does not seem that bad considering the large increase in work-life balance.
