If IB Junior Analysts were covered like Sports

Couldn’t help but notice how much more interesting work would be if we were covered like sports.

“Yeah bro, I was at WF until I found out I just got traded to JPM for two 2025 SA picks. Apparently JPM thinks I could be a good role player for HC group, and I guess WF is looking to rebuild at the moment.”

“Damn dude, JEF just dished me out to MS. They traded me, 2 middle buckets and a 2024 SA pick for their top bucket M&A analyst. Apparently I was just a throw in.”

Kinda a reach with that analogy. I think the best parallel is college football/basketball recruiting and IB recruiting. Like you have the blue blood "5 star" IMG/Oak Hill/ Whartons recruits hoping for offers from Alabama/Duke/CVP, GS etc.And of course the not as heavily recruited like JJ Watt walking on to Wisconsin and becoming an All Pro/ kid from a "non target" who makes partner in MF PE

Jesus Christ I need to break into PE so I can stop incessantly checking this forum and wandering into retarded posts like this one

If it worked like NFL more than half of you’d be cut or pushed to scout team at training vs oh well it’s only 2 years we can survive w him just doing whatever, right? We would also pay the really good guys well and stick the below averages w $5k. Just cause you practiced in heat doesn’t make you worthy of only 10% discount compared to the better guys

Wall street didn’t believe in me so I went to China and became the top rainmaker there. Tried coming back to MM hoping to lateral to MF, didn’t work out, so back to China again. Maybe I’ll be a pastor there one day.
