If You Could Do it Over Again...
Current sophomore at target. I know I want to do IB, and am starting up recruiting soon for SA 2022. Interested in M&A, Lev Fin, and ECM. For anyone who has lateraled from M&A to ECM/Lev fin or Vice versa, do you wish you did the other desk sooner? Pros and Cons of each division? Trying to make a decision on what I’d like to pursue. I am nervous ECM wouldn’t give me any exit opps in the worst case that I didn’t like my experience doing ECM.

Do you have a clear favourite re sector choice?
If you have a sector you could see yourself in, you'd have the chance to experience all products!
Note that some sectors are heavier in certain products. Industrials is very debt-heavy. Healthcare can have tons of ECM stuff. Some sectors/verticals are also more likely to have sponsor activity than others!
