Importance of the i-banking internship
I am currently facing a tough decision as my goal is to become an investment banker. I have always considered accounting at a Big 4 firm as a backup plan. The problem is that the Big 4 are recruiting now for summer internships where as the investment banks recruit interns in the spring.
Would it be a poor decision to go ahead and try to get the Big 4 internship as I am pretty sure I would get one. I am not certain that I will be able to get the investment banking internship, because while my resume is good so is everyone else's trying for those jobs.
When it comes time to interview for a full time position at the banks, do they look down on Big 4 accounting internships?
accounting background is very useful in banking, so they wouldn't look down upon it (but ibanking internship is still significantly better, obviously)
how long do the big 4 give you to decide? if the offer explodes before IB summer interviews, then i personally wouldn't do that.
Accounting is definitely key in banking
