I've been told by Associates and up that I should show that I care about the work I'm doing but I really can't bring myself to do that. It's incredibly dry and I do it because it pays well and I guess I do a good enough job that I can stick around but how do you find a reason to care about the fact that whoever gets the deck isn't going to blink twice at the graphs you send or the alignment?

you could try to find enthusiasm for the area you are covering or the specifics of the deal. I also find it hard to find excitement in excel spreadsheets or models.
Try to trick yourself to care about it. Think about the big picture, why you are doing the analysis. You’ll enjoy the job more and do a better job.
