Interest Income
Working on a model right now and seeing negative interest income on a 10k. Can someone explain in what scenarios interest income could be negative?

Are you using nominal or real? real = nominal - inflation
Oh my... What that's saying is if it's a positive number it's an expense and if it's a negative number it's income. So your (0.3) actually means interest (income) was positive.

Interest expense on things like credit card debt, AP, etc. Can also be positive if you're earning interest on savings/checking account or AR.

This is other income, so it would include things besides interest, no? And it's a negative expense, so it's interest income.
Go look up the company's definition of the line item, often this other line includes some legacy items or non-core bits and pieces that might swing it to income in a given quarter. Or maybe they have very small minority stakes in other companies generating income.
But taking that aside and assuming there are no other items in that line, it just means that interest income > interest expense (the line item is net). Company might have very low debt or a very high credit rating to achieve this
