Interesting/Most Challenging Aspects of Corporate Finance Research

Hi,

I want to get involved in research at my school in the finance department and before I contact professors about opportunities, I need to come up with an idea that I find interesting to pitch to them. I know the term "corporate finance' is extremely broad (I can be more specific if need be in my follow up post), but I was wondering if anyone knows generally what are the hot topics in corporate finance that might be worth looking into? I'm particularly interested in project financing for corporations, so if anyone has ideas for that especially, please let me know so I can come up with a question on my own.
