Internal Transfer After 1 Year - Hong Kong to NYC, International Student

Hi,

I am currently a student who just graduated from the states and am working at a BB in IBD/GCM group. I am a first year analyst and do not enjoy the culture in Hong Kong. I am very interested in moving to the New York office. However, internal transfers usually require 2+ years and I would ideally move after my 1rst year. I understand that there is the L1 visa but that only works for people in managerial/executive positions. I was eligible for the H1B visa but have now lost my rights as I have been out of the US for a few months.

Has anyone ever made a move from APAC to NYC after 1 year? What are the possibilities / routes for me? Thank you!

Trying to make a location change as well but within the states. Would imagine international transfer may be a bit more difficult but possible w strong performance
