Interview Conundrum

So just looking for advice from the WSO monkeys. I have a final interview with my top choice early this week on campus. I was just notified that I got a final round in NYC later in the week with another bank, but I am expecting to hear back from the first interview before those occur.

I obviously am going to take the interview in NYC, but just didn't know if I should reply now and tell them my availability, or reply in a day or two after I know about the on campus position. I just don't know if I'll be able to notify them Tuesday about accepting a Wednesday/Thursday interview, or if I'd be better off commiting now and then dealing with a cancellation if I get the offer from the first one.

Commit now and early in the process, this will give you good credence with HR. You have no way of knowing now whether you'll get an offer from your top choice - so establish a good rep with this other NYC firm in case things fall through. No problem to let the bank know a couple days before interviews about your cancellation. If not, you could still fly out to NYC with an offer in hand, enjoy the night, interview, and then decline.
