Interview with BofA
Hello everyone,
I am currently a Master's in Finance student at a target school. I recently completed an interview with an analyst at BofA for the SA 2027 programme in London. She was great with me, telling me things like "wow, impressive" multiple times, and "you have work experience, market awareness, and a good personality." She also added, "I'm sure you would do great here" and "you're really humble." What's the typical timeline to hear back for the Assessment Centre? Also, is this something they tell everybody, or is it a genuine good sign? (This is my first interview process in IB, so I don't have much to compare it to.)
Is this a brag lol
kidding, sounds good?
Not really a brag man hahah, I'm shitting my pants rn. Do you know the timeline?
the praise is probably genuine but weightless either way - analysts submit scores into a debrief and hr sends the ac invites, so even an interviewer who loved you does not decide alone. specific comments (market awareness, work experience) are a better sign than a generic "great chat".
london ac invites after first rounds usually land in 1-3 weeks, sometimes within days if they are batching fast. silence past that still is not a death sentence, invites trickle.
useful move while you wait: prep the ac format rather than more technicals - group exercise dynamics, a bank of competency stories, and 2-3 market topics you can talk about for five minutes each. that is where most first-timers underprepare.
