Intrepid Investment Bankers
Hi!
Have anyone heard of Intrepid Bankers? Their reputation, WLB, culture, etc are what I am looking for. They are now building a capital advisory (seemingly working around distressed companies), and I am curious how this would be in other people's eyes. I lack in terms of discerning the type of work/qualities of the companies and would appreciate if anyone could provide insights into this.

I don't have any insights into the firm, but their co-founder & CEO, Ed Bagdasarian, was a guest on the podcast Middle Market Musings in December of 2022. You could probably glean some of the values of the firm from it, and you could definitely get some interesting talking points for interviews.

All I know is their comp structure starting at Associate level can potentially be very very lucrative. They start profit-sharing at the associate level, but they do pay their analysts below street. Sick office with a bar as well and culture seems to be great.
Yeah that is what I heard as well. Interesting way to filter out the people and retain their analysts.
As for their RX practice, I believe they just poached two MDs from Cowen? Not sure how strong it will be, but I believe it will operate out of NYC instead of their HQ in LA
do you know what all-in comp would be for first years
How does the profit sharing work? How low are the bases
What does bonus comp look like for an analyst? Assuming well below street?

I think you may be confusing them with Intrepid Financial Partners, which is a Houston based Energy Boutique with an office in NYC. It is my understanding that Intrepid Investment Bankers are out of LA.
