Career Resources
I went from a SA BB Internal Audit role to PMG at a top institutional Asset Manager when I graduated. YMMV.
thanks for the insight. i just finished my undergrad last year and don't want to get pigeonholed in audit, but I'm thinking having a BB on my resume will open up opportunities to move into the business (wheter that be the same firm or a different one) after a couple of years.. which would be IB and investment management if i pursue this role.
Buyside audit.
thats the thing.. i eventually want to get out of audit. i just graduated last May and don't want to get pigeonholed.
Get to know as many junior bankers as possible. Not on some coffee chat type ish, more so like lets go on a road trip. The cool junior bankers will then introduce you to their superiors-who have the influence. Get to know the superiors in depth and have your future changed.
Hate to break it to you, but if you start in audit, it's going to be pretty hard to get out. Unless you get really lucky. You need to get out asap. The longer you stay there, the more likely you get pigeonholed.
ive only been in audit for a year and 2 months now. I'm studying for the CFA and attempting to network. my end goal is, IB the PE/HF, and i know i need to get out of audit as soon as possible.
I would focus on finding another job, forget the exit ops.
agreed, i am exploring entry level jobs within finance across a range of sectors, from WM/AM, TS and VS, i know there are a few career paths to IB -> PE/HF, and i need to start getting relevant experience now. It's just been very tough to land an interview anywhere.
