What’s the current scoop around the investment banks (bulge brackets) in London?
Anyone heard of any cuts or lay offs about to happen soon? My own view is that things are safe for now given the shit storm that happened in late 2012 and early 2013, but want to get other opinions too. By cuts, I am referring to specifically the IBD division of the banks.

Same here, and I think sentiment is getting more positive. Most BBs probably cut too many, some BBs have expanded 2013 grad intake (before anyone PMs me for more info, these positions are all filled), and BBs are actually hiring laterally again.
Lots of internal postings at my bb for London in the past two or three months.
