One step back / two step forwards in my mind when you factor in the comp haircut but arent miserable or burnt out in your 30s and are still clearing $500k+ a year (assuming you’re talking about IR for alternative assets and are exiting from banking - corp IR at say an F500 tends to pay a bit less)
Do you have any insight on what the pay at each level looks like? Curious to see the progression to $500k+
Every fund is different. AS1s at my shop start at $200k cash total comp. VP1s ~$350. Directors and up is where it gets big when you can tap into carry or get commish off any sourcing you might help facilitate. but for 60ish hour weeks (and then travel as you get older) it seems like a sweet spot
Thanks for the insight! Definitely a great exit op for anyone considering. I'm assuming associate to VP has pretty decent WLB as well? Are they working 50-65 hrs at this point?
How long does it take to get from associate to VP?
