Is a Brigham Young MBA better than Notre Dame for I-Banking?
I was asking people about a Notre Dame MBA last week and it seemed like no one had anything good to say.
If I converted to Mormonism and went to Brigham Young, would that give me a better shot at breaking into I-Banking?
I can't speak for the schools but I don't think you have to be Mormon to go to BYU? I think they may have a pretty strict student code of conduct though.
Whatever. I just want to know if its a better MBA to break into I-Banking.
No.

Well, that was really helpful for OP. He learned that Notre Dame undergrads think the Notre Dame undergrad program is great, that undergrad Notre Dame students look down on the Notre Dame grad program (Which is kinda funny, because ND is maybe a top 25 school for undergrad and maybe around top 20 for MBA, so like, the student quality is basically identical, right? Pot, meet kettle.) He then got one line about how BYU sucks, with no explanation. But we'll just take your word for it man, thanks. And then the best part: you told him to go to the University of Chicago. That's great! I'm sure he didn't know about Booth before reading your post. Thanks for keying us all in on that under-the-radar program. Should he check out Harvard too? Do they offer MBAs?
I mean ND is "maybe a top 25 school for undergrad" insofar as 17 is "maybe" less than 25 and "maybe around top 20 for MBA" insofar as 27 is "around" 20 (USNWR rankings). The other equally if not more important point to make is that the drop-off in bang-for-buck in MBAs is much steeper.
Definitely super helpful for the OP...plus ND undergrad (mendoza or not) is definitely not considered a target. If you look at a real target like Wharton, you'd see that the top 10 employers of all-time (per LinkedIn's new alumni tool) are McKinsey, GS, Citi, BCG, MS, JPMorgan, BAML, Deloitte, Bain and Google. All, with the exception of Deloitte, are top tier IBD, consulting or tech companies. While ND's top 10 employers are E&Y, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, IBM, Boeing, Target, BAML, AT&T, P&G.
Definitely a target for big 4 accounting and midwest corporates.
Have you tried contacting the career centers at either of these places?
If you like shorts, facial hair, sex, beer, or fun - don't go to BYU
