Is everything lost?
Background:
I'll be graduating in May with a BSBA, finance emphasis (3.7 GPA, 4.0 last 50 hours)
My plans were to go straight to law school. However, I didn't get the LSAT score I needed to get into a top 10 school: thus, I've decided to try to enter the workforce.
My goals:
Analyst, over 50k, large city.
Work Experience:
Assistant Manager of 4.5 star restaurant (good position, but not necessarily tantamount to a summer IB gig).
I've was also a teller supervisor and CSR at bank during freshman/sophomore year in college.
School Info:
The University I'm graduating from is decent (AAU, Carnegie Mellon Research Institution, etc.) However, although the business school is getting better, its still only T50ish.
Question:
I've sent about twenty resumes within the last three week; with no responses yet. Is it too late? or should I continue on with my resume blitz? Any comments (good or bad) and suggestions would be great.
Thanks.
Not sure what to tell you...FT recruiting ended a while ago
You might still have a shot at some regional banks.... FT recruiting at most banks ended in November. Is there anything local you could apply to?
Otherwise if you can't get into banking, maybe try related finance jobs? Even though mutual funds and such are a bit far from banking, you could still use them to break in eventually.
Thanks for the replies...
Should I apply for SAs and hope one parlays into FT?
Additionally, I've applied to consulting analyst positions at some of the Big 4s. Beyond that does anybody have suggestions in terms of positions and companies they would recommend given my credentials and situation?
what would u tell the banks u r doing for a year if u applied to be an SA?
