Is lateral hiring really slow right now?

No idea about all IBs but I did apply for a soft dev role laterally at GS and its been a month for getting "internal approval". I'm stuck at this pre offer stage with hr asking me about expected compensation and all. My referrer also told me that after bonuses a lot of upper management resign and there's a lot of changes which might impact the teams priority for a new hire. Anyway, GL!

Same. Passed the modeling test a month ago. HR recently got back - told me I'm a finalist candidate, and let me know that they're just trying to schedule a final interview. Was told delays were due to deals heating up and traveling. Started the process ~1.5 months ago.

Very soft lateral environment given macro outlook and recent EVR layoffs

Just started the search over the past few weeks but haven’t seen anything too interesting available. Some EB traction through references/network but nothing too promising

I haven’t seen much either. Everyone is getting the same 2-3 openings around here from recruiters. Every west coast banker has been blown up by the same Selby Jennings guys lol. Maybe it’ll heat up in a month or so if macro outlook improves and COVID cases slow.
