Is RBC now a BB?

Never has been, and Most likely never will be. There are a few sectors where RBC kills it, but most of the mandates are with Upper MM/MM companies. Sure, they would probably be at the top-ish of any financing table, but that is not because they are a BB - its because they are a balance sheet bank. 

Not really.  Certain teams do BB transactions whereas others are very much MM (like Tech).  If every team at RBC did the scale of transactions that the PU&I / FIG teams do, then it would be.  But those are not the median teams at RBC

Given the comments about RBC above, why are banks like DB still considered bulge brackets?

Current Rbc employees here. I don’t think anyone care if we’re a bb or not. But we do have top teams that compete with the best on the street.

See people clown RBC here a lot, some of which is deserved but do y’all know anyone there. There are some groups with incredible wlb, culture and street pay. Not the place for MF gunners for anyone staying in banking should take a look
