Is the "Incoming IB Analyst at xyz" still gay if oncycle takes place so early now

Thoughts?

Could it make it easier to get on the list of HHs?

I always thought it was gay and unnecessary but now it seems there could be a practical reason to list it

Yeah but you have nothing to talk with them about right now.

I'm not saying it hurts or anything, but you're not missing out on anything by not talking to headhunters for PE while you're still in college. Unless they're like your personal friend or something they're only focused on people they can immediately place. "Long-term thinking" is totally out of their wheelhouse lol, odds are they'll forget about you instantly if you talk to them now and then reach out on the assumption they've never met your before in another year or two when they actually can place you. Either way, good luck when you hit the desk bruv.

At least it gets you on their list though. Agree that talking to them doesn’t matter but they have already been sending out surveys that puts you in their bank of candidates for when the time comes.

sure every HH will reach out to every banker at a top bank or group but some people aren’t there so getting on the list early could potentially help

You should absolutely put "incoming x at y" in your header.
What you should not do, is make a sob story post about the firm you're joining or the offer.

If it opens up the door to early conversations with HHs who may lead to your ideal Investing role, who cares what others think of you.

Ignore title, current incoming analyst who was told explictly by a well known headhunter (CPI/Henkel) to list "incoming analyst" on LinkedIn, as well as group.

Does this mean just header or just as an experience, or both/doesn't matter? Thank you!

Can't totally remember but think they said both, but at least in experience because you can put group name. Most importantly is having your summer analyst bank and group name and location on.

I still think it's fucking stupid and doesn't change the fact that people do this for self-congratulatory and bragging purposes. HHs will obviously tell you this because it makes their job easier and they're lazy, when in reality what happens is they'll ping the 2nd or 3rd years in your group anyways to ask for a list of all the new hires at the start of the year regardless.
