Is this a front office position? - Hourly wage

The description seems to describe front office work and they say its a summer analyst program but the description says it pays an hourly wage as opposed to saying it pays a salary like the other IBD postings I have seen on my school's job website and it says the approximate hours per week is 40.

Overview:

Summer Analyst Program

Summer offers are made for a specific office based on candidate preference and business need. Industry and product group assignments are made before the summer begins, once a candidate has had the opportunity to learn about each group and meet team members. The summer program kicks off with an orientation and training session where you'll learn the Bank of America Merrill Lynch basics: technical skills, our views on the markets and professional practices that will make your summer experience all the more valuable. Training will continue throughout the summer as you participate in presentations and other group and individual projects led by industry experts. Outstanding performers may be considered for a full-time position upon graduation.

This could be a very usefull niche to network out of, and would probably be a good move if you don't get anything else. Keep pushing for the job you want and use this as a backup. Is it at a BB?

Get busy living

I would think this would be an internship on one of the Fx sales desks.

They probably wont have you actively selling, especially at first, and a lot of this "Interact daily with the bank's Traders, Credit Risk group, Underwriting team, and Documentation professionals to calculate exposures, structure credit, price and document transactions" type of activity involves stuff that the sales guys hate taking the time to do.

so I think it is FO, but doing the sales desk's bitch/support work.

edit-i worked w/ one of these groups @baml
