Is this a good way into Lev Fin?

Wondering if this would be a good way into LevFin:

I graduated last summer and have been working in the real estate arm of a large pension fund. I have an opportunity to switch to the loan originations team where they underwrite and give first mortgages and mezz loans to large single asset transactions. Would this be a good way to get into a LevFin group?

Thanks in advance

I’d say it’s not impossible but not likely. Real estate is real estate. Any sort of corporate deal work would be meaningfully more transferable
