Is This E-mail Typo a Big Deal?

Hey everyone, happy Saturday. I am in the application process for a position as a Spring corp dev intern at a large tech company in NYC. I already have an offer at a BB for the summer, just looking for something to do in the meantime.

In an E-mail I wrote to one of the people who interviewed me, I accidentally signed off "Beat Regards" instead of "Best Regards." This person never mentioned it, but put me through to the next round anyway. Does this mean it isn't being counted against me? Is that a huge fuck up in an E-mail?

I'm going to bite, but not to answer your question.

Where I can offer value is by pointing out that I'd be more worried about how your mentality is going to impact you. It's a SUNK COST. It's done. You can't change it, so don't worry about it or reference it again. They're either going to be bothered by it, or they'll notice it and undestand because A is right next to S and they've done it before themselves.

What will hurt you more is whatever quirk is making you seek assurance on the internet from random strangers about a random typo. Dirty little secret is that almost everyone has done it at some point. Most of us just mutter "fuck!" to ourselves and go about our day.

Figure out why this bothers you and fix it. Someone who is that insecure is going to have a tough time making a good impression during a networking call or interview.

Yes, it works. I've had much better results when I go in with a confident (not quite, but borderline arrogant) attitude. If you know exactly what value adds you do and do not bring to an organization and can articulate what they're worth that's the way you will be able to impress people and make them want you on part of the team. What you're doing is the opposite of that.

Yes it's a big issue. They're gonna let you go the moment you step into their office and lead you down the walk of shame...... In all seriousness, it's just a minor error. No one's gonna look into it and punish you (a capable person) unless their life is in utter shambles at the moment.

Absolute truths don't exist... celebrated opinions do.
