Is this resume format acceptable?

Hello, I am currently writing my resume for application to investment banks this summer for analyst positions and I wanted to get the best bang for my buck knowing that these banks will only spend 10 seconds at most on each resume.

I found this format from Zety. I really like the outline as it is very chronological, efficient, and has the ability to make key words/skills/accomplishments stand out. However, I am not sure if it is appropriate.

Here is the link below. If you scroll down slightly to the first image, it is the resume to the right with the green check mark.

Any thoughts? Thank you so much.

I would say don't use it. While the format may seem interesting and more likely to stand out, standing out because of your resume format isn't necessarily what you want to do for IB. More experienced users can obviously chime in better than I can, but all the threads I've read on here point to playing it safe and using the standard format, whether it be the WSO or M&I template.

I think it would be best to not use this format. I don't think having so much color is a great thing for IB resumes. Also, I think this formatting takes away from the content and makes me think that you actually haven't done much, which is why you could be compensating with the format.

The typical WSO template is pretty good, adjust to your liking and maybe change the font or something to make it your own. Good luck and PM me if you need any help or suggestions with your resume, happy to help.

I don't think the guy who wrote the article has had any experience in recruiting for IB. It's not to say it is not an interesting format but I can easily see it rubbing people the wrong way. To be honest I thought this Resume was a bit pretentious, you would need pretty strong credentials to pull this format off imo.
