Career Resources
Did they tell you if your "internship" has an end date or if you will be converted to a FT analyst?
.
Time to start looking for new jobs. This is super sketch. Do you have some sort of documentation saying it is a FT offer? For your backpocket. The only concern I would have is if the new job reference checks and they try to lie and dick you over, so that's why I'd want to have documentation backup.
There is absolutely no reason to change it on your resume. Or LinkedIn for that matter, but they obviously can see your LI so maybe make it private to save yourself some headache while you job search. Probably plenty of opps opening up soon.
.
I think it is fair to assume that is standard, fulltime employment. Usually they would qualify it if it was an internship or non-FT.
Sounds worse than Tobin
Couple Questions:
1. Are you licensed? Might not be the worst to be an intern, if you are not licensed, could save you alot of legal in the future if a deal ever cam back to bit you.
2. Just look for a new job with analyst on your resume, they will never find out. and then drop them from linkedin once you leave.
do not change your resume title. You were hired full time. Simple as that. Disregard your shitty firms guidance.
Start recruiting now with your FT analyst position in your resume.
If it comes up in a background check (likely will not), say your firm arbitrarily changed title due to shady tax reasons. Provide your offer letter as proof that hired you full time initially.
Also, if you worked full time hours with benefits...you are not an intern. No matter what they say.
Change title to Managing Director. Apparently it’s not causing tax or licensing issues.
