It can be done!

2 things I would like to say.

First, for all you low GPA non-core students it can be done! I attended a non-core school and have a GPA3.5 but still received an offer from a top Wall-Street bank. It is all about prior experience and networking way ahead of time. I am not going to lie, it was a huge uphill battle but IT CAN BE DONE!

Second, thank you everyone on ibankingoasis. I could not have received the offer if it weren't for the great interviewing advice given on this board. There are a lot of crap messages, but if one searches hard enough they can find useful information. THANK YOU EVERYONE! I COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU.

Theres a lot of missing info about your profile. Please specify the stuff aspiringmonkey mentioned in his post so your thread is somewhat meaningful.

Banking > VC > Tech PE; PM me if you would like any advice I'm happy to help

above 3.0 below 3.5, ECs=a lot and leadership roles in most, great internships (not banking though), non-core school, BB firm, and just a great understanding of how a deal works. If you are in a position like this make sure to network (I was for over a year) and really know your finance! Understand everything about WACC, ROE, DCF, valuation models..........

Basically, read through this board and prepare non-stop.
