IU Kelley Viability

Hello WSO Monkeys,

I am a current junior in high school and have been interested in a high finance role for a while. I live in Illinois and plan to go into IB . Sadly, my EC's and standardized tests are not quite up to par with a school like Mich, UChicago, or North Western. However, I meet the direct admission requirements for Kelley.  I know Kelley is a meme on this forum, but is it a legitimately viable school for IB in Chicago or possibly NYC? (I am aware of the IB workshop there and from my understanding it isn't hard to get into if you prioritize it your freshman year).

Do firms actually look down on Kelley students and are internships (especially in Chicago) actually available to Kelley students? My parents are successful salespeople who are convinced that I could break into IB with a few good connections from a nontarget. They'll let me go and pay for Kelley but don't see the value I do. I know Kelley isn't the best, but it is my best option as I am a mid student in the eyes of Midwest ultra targets with a 4.0 GPA and 1400 SAT with my only ec's being Varsity Golf, caddying, and an internship at my parent's company.

To sum it up in short, is Kelley actually viable it if it is my best option and will I actually be able to get a semi-prestigious job and internship if I excel in college?

Was at IU and later transferred to a target even before applying to IBW. Most people look down on non-IBW kids in banking. If I were you, I'd retake the SAT if possible and try to transfer to a target. Even if you don't retake the SAT I would apply to UMich, UVA, UNC, Cornell, USC, etc. as a transfer. Look man, IU Kelley is great if you are in IBW, but if not, it's going to be an uphill battle.

Im gonna be fairly blunt. You have spent too much time on this forum as a high schooler and have asked quite possibly one of the dumbest questions I’ve heard. “Do firms look down on a top 10-15 business school because its a meme on a high finance website?” Kelley aint the best school to go to for IB, aint even top 10. But its a well known college that places 60-100 kids each year into high finance roles plus a vast amount of other highly coveted roles. Spend more time off this site pls.

Also, you should probably change your username if that is your real name
