He probably just listed his current position rather than all the positions that he has held at his current firm. I know several others who have had several positions at the same firm who have done this.
I see. Most people I know list all their positions so it shows a progression and LinkedIn automatically connects them as subsections under one employer.
But what you said would make sense. Kind of misleading though.
In addition to this, a former NFL player went straight from his MBA to VP at PWM for a BB. That’s an unusual case because of his connections but happens outside IBD
