Jefferies analyst bonus numbers won’t be out for another week or so.

To answer the other part of your question, you really need to look at the big picture. Jefferies had a record Q1/Q2 in IB fees and are very strong in Levfin and ECM, which has more than made up for the decline in M&A.

The low return rate for interns is unfortunate but imo I interpret that as preferring to underestimate headcount rather than overestimate. In HRs opinion it’s probably better to offer a small amount of group specific returns instead of a large amount of generalist returns and end up having nowhere to place them next year. Plus, Jefferies tends to hire more laterals than other banks do, so they can always fill future headcount needs through that.
